Chasin'tail Hudson Canyon 10/3-10/4
With the unbelievable weather made the run offshore with Pat and George. Got to the Hudson an dropped the lines in an area with a ton of work boats. Made our way out to the square an picked are spot for the night had a ton of bait fish on the surface an in the area. Not long after the sun went down two lines go screaming an are hooked up. By 8 pm we manage to have 3 yellowfin an a big LF. Throughout the night we would have a flurry come through here and there an managed to put 8 big yellows a longfin an released a Sword.Pulling hooks an breaking off just as many. Last bite came after sun up around 730.. The Avet 30s an Hx matched with my Jersey Jigger JCT Combo rods were unmatched putting a beat down on these fish and light enough to where we fought most fish with no belts. Its a nice advantage to be able to use the same rods trolling chunking and jigging... low on ice an room we got up on the troll picked one more longfin an went straight for the deep to look for a marlin or big eye. didnt have any takers so we swung around worked back to elbow picked up and headed home. Got some video I will post up after edit.
