Hit up Merril Creek from shore on Tuesday morning in hopes of some good shoreline trout action. Action wasn't crazy, but did manage a beauty on powerbait
Then went to the South Branch in Clinton and picked away at dink smallies and my first two ever wild brown trout! (bottom bouncing worms and b&g panther martins)
Then Sunday morning I hit up RV for the first time this fall looking for those shoreline trout. Was pleasantly surprised in the first 10 minutes of fishing when my rod doubles over and drag starts peeling out while it's still in the holder. A few moments later after some nice drag ripping action I land a 3lb 1oz RVTA tagged rainbow! WOOOOO! Damn I was happy, I've been waiting for a hit like that since last fall. I friggen love shoreline trout fishing at RV.
PS: That rainbow was full of eggs. Could I save these and make egg sacs for salmon fishing?
