Got the wife up at 5am to hit the Valley on the boat. Got a dozen herring and a dozen shiners from Behre's. Was on the water at 7. Same plan as last week, fished btwn 120 and 70 FOW, 1 rod on bottom, one at 40 and one ~20/30 ft drifting. Marked lakers near bottom btwn 100-60, bows/browns btwn 50-40. Had just rained sat, wind started to kick around 730/8. I hooked and landed the only fish of the day around 730 on the first drift on the bottom in 90 fow on a herring. 20" laker. Pic w/ my wife holding fish attached on link. Very FAT fish. Taken for dinner. full of grass shrimp. Wind screwed up my dirfts, way too fast, couldnt keep lines down. changed locations which helped a little...got many on the deep and medium rods, hits with shredded herring, but fish didnt hold on. drift was too fast i suspect. my wife called it quits at 1030 just as the wind died down a bit. i would have prefered to stay out all day
