Could not have asked for a better day , Plenty of sunshine, beers bites and good memories.
The Morning started out with the wind blowing pretty hard . Thought it was gonna be a long day . We headed South of the Rip ,towards the Artificial Reef. The bite was pretty much on early . However business as usual , ya had to avoid the rocks - stay out junk to get a hook up. Had to donate a few Jigs there before I was able box a flattie tho. First few drifts put 2 in the box
We managed to pick a few nice fatties and sea bass up to five pounds . After a few more drifts the wind layed down a bit was able to fish with 1,1-1/2 oz buck tail . Put a few more champs in the box. Then the wind picked back up again , time to adjust and the bite was back on.
We fished those grounds most of the morning . The bite slowed down some time in the afternoon than headed out to rattle snake wreck. At first we landed a bunch of shorts before boxing a few. Had to bounce around a little before finding a steady bite . Than things only got better for all of us, sun shining just enough wind blowing and the box filling up. . It was a gorgeous day all together.
You don't get many of those picture perfect catching days. . Not much wind in the afternoon however enough current to keep the bait moving. There were at least 3 drifts where where everyone was hooked up at once . Most of the fish I caught was 4-5 pounds . All quality fish. Didn't get any ponies but I caught my limit of champs. . The others boxed about 4 flatties each . And we all caught a few nice biscuits mixed in throughout the day .….....Great !!!day to remember.
No one took a picture of all our fish caught, but here are a few champs early on the day. Sashimi for lunch . Gota roll...
