got up dark and early and was launched on oak ridge a half hour before dawn this morning. i don't know when, but pretty recently they have drawn the reservoir down a foot or foot and a half or so from the normal level. lots of exposed shoreline, rock piles, etc. i thought this would be good, concentrate the fish at the drop offs a bit, but i wasn't catching a thing. weeds were real bad with the water lowered too. decided to call an audible and head over to clinton reservoir instead.
was launched there by 8 and it was non stop schoolie sammies. nothing bigger than 12", but mildly entertaining when 4 other fish are trying to take the lure out of the mouth of the one you are catching

didn't bother with any other pictures. by 9 things were slowing down, so i trolled a lap. picked away at a some more SMB and a few decent perch but nothing to write home about. by 10:30 the bite was pretty dead, but i decided to stay until 12:30 anyway so i could catch a sunburn haha
CD-5 shad and HJ-10 perch were both producing. surface temps were 73° both reservoirs. watershed patrol was out in a jon boat with a gas outboard, something small, looked like an 8 hp or less, motoring around and checking out the boats on the water.
oh yeah, every other person i saw launch loaded their gear into the boat while on the ramp instead of while in a parking spot and then launching. sup with that!? i had to wait to leave oak ridge while some guy blocked the ramp for 10-15 minutes. where is the ramp courtesy?
