Great Day on the Long Shot!
Got invited on J.Murr's Long Shot Charter today. Had a little problem filling the boat since a lot of guys were fishing the tournament today, but we managed to scrape together 6 haggard soles, JMurr, Myself, Dennis, Gary, Vinnie and Lou!
While I had a feeling that today was going to be a real good day, I still must admit that I didn't expect we would have a boat limit by 1:00PM! Capt Chris took us to one spot with the hopes that we could catch a few before the current started running to hard. Turns out we never had a problem with the current and never had to leave the area.
Lou managed the Dollar fish and Vinnie had the $ for the biggest. Weighed in at the dock 8.7lbs. While I couldn't manage anything over 5# I did have my limit by 9:30 or so and finished the day with a double limit. Actually I had to release a keeper at the end but Dennis says it doesn't count because I should have stopped fishing sooner? Dennis had a double limit too. And someone has a picture of the Sculpin King actually releasing a keeper.
So far, this year The Long Shot has been the only boat I can find a full limit of Fluke on. Two trips 3 limits, not a bad average. (Only keeping my legal limit, of course!) Thanks Capt. Chris, & BJ, FJ, hey you, or what ever your name is!
