Default Pond fishing

Had a few hours to burn so I decided to pay a visit to my local pond. Started out by using my go to lures, but none of them seemed to work. I then tied on a white spinnerbait and caught a small lmb. This is when things began get weird. The next cast ended up getting stuck in a tree, and when I went to hit it out I noticed a senko on the ground. I rigged it up wacky style and casted it near the same tree the spinnerbait was in. Thats when I felt a hard bite. At first I thought it was a huge bass, but it didnt jump like they typically do. My next thought was someone must have illegally stocked a pickerel. After a 5 minute fight I got the fish close to the shore to realize it was a CATFISH. Has anyone else had catfish bite a senko?
