Default Canyon Runner - 3 Big-Eyes, 8 Yellowfin, 48 Bluefin, 3 Makos & More - Good Day

Capt. Mark DeBlasio and Capt. Dean Lambros will fill in some details once they get the boats cleaned up and get us pictures later tonight but Sunday started off the beginning of our 2013 Canyon season with both boats headed 100+ miles from Manasquan Inlet to find 70 degree water and the first big-eyes of our NJ season (we already caught a couple back in March in NC) along with yellowfin, bluefin, mahi and makos.

Capt. Dean with an open boat charter broke the ice on the big-eyes going 3 for 4 on big-eyes in the 85-90 pound class along with 4 yellowfin and 28 bluefin. The tuna ate a combination of everything of course (that happens when you catch 35 tuna) but the hot lures were the Canyon Runner Mamba bars, Mini Green Machine bars and one of our new color squids - Pearl/White. Capt. Dean mentioned that our new Canyon Runner Squid Dredges were red hot with the bluefins actually following the dredges up to the boat and staying under them as we were fighting the fish. The big-eyes ate one of our Canyon Runner big-eye runners, a Melton Cherry Jet and a Canyon Runner Pearl Squid bar. They actually had 9 bites at once coming tight on 4.

This was Dean's first canyon charter running the boat as the #1 Captain so not a bad way to start - congrats Dean.

Capt. Mark took the John Dale charter on the 60 Ritchie and spent Sunday-Monday catching just about everything that swims. He caught 3 makos to 200 pounds, 1 tiger to 500 pounds, 2 blue sharks, 4 yellowfin, 20 bluefin and 3 tiles. Most of his tuna came on the new Pearl/White Canyon Runner squid bar but the mamba bars worked as well. Mark said the key was fishing close to boat with the short rigger and flat lines getting the most bites.

So for all you folks sitting on the fence waiting for the tuna to show before booking here you go. Please look below and jump on one if you wish (cost is $750/person) and it's on our 48 Viking - these will go quickly so please don't get upset if they are gone when you call:

June 16-17 (2 spots)
June 19-20 (3 spots)
June 24-25 (1 Spot)
June 27-28 (4 spots)
June 28-29 (1 spot)

And of course - don't forget out our Canyon Runner Fishing Report Service - Going on 10 Years Now it has proven year in and year out to be the number one reason crews have had they best seasons ever. Last year saw our members catch over 100 big-eyes and win over $600,000 in tournament winnings in 10 different events. Call and find out why this is the best money you'll ever spend to catch fish.
