After a great morning of stripers I figured the nite bite would be decent. Got out w Jackstraw for a few hrs. Left the slip around 10 and worked all our usual spots. Very little bait working and it took alot of work to find life. Fish were keyed in on topwater but were swiping and missing consistently. The water temps dropped 9 degrees this week and there was heavy boat traffic today so that may have had its effects. Anyway in my "hotspot" I snapped on old faithful and on the first cast this beauty nipped it then inhaled it on the follow up. A big thankyou to my buddy Anthony "Jackstraw" for the net job, we were not prepared for something of this size, I thought I had the record wiper on the other end of my line for a minute, she splashed and ran like a wiper up high. 10lb powerpro and 10lb floro leader held up. My first musky and a new PB freshwater fish. No lenght or weight taken, a quick CPR and a revive and she went off to her business, didnt want to stress the fish more than I already had trying to get her in the boat. She was thick and long and pulled like a freight train.......pic to prove it
