Hit up what was expected to be a very crowded reservoir today so I got up at 3:45, and was on the water immediately after sunrise at 5:45. Pedaled 1 mile to the big island and picked up 3 cookie cutter smallies. They wouldn't take the old wacky senko so went with some awesome stick bait, all silver, that was tucked into a corner of the tackle box. Good stuff! Blazed out of that spot as fast as I came in and went to the golden area in the back. Was the only one back there the whole morning. Ended up landing 10 LMB to 3# and a really nice pickerel. I also had a large (20"+) pick boat side before it easily bit through my invisiline 6lb. Had a couple other bass boat side and then shake including one bucket mouthed slob.
I'm definitely a weekend warrior with a few weekdays mixed in so I'd say I'm really happy with how it went today.
