Default Cast netting bunker-you can do it!

Been down here in Florida throwing my Percy net.Mullet are all over and my bunker net works well for them. Soon we will be searching out bunker. For you guys that are just getting into it maybe some suggestions will help.
I hear this a lot,I don't need a big net because we don't need that many bunker.A small net with fine mesh is nothing but a waste of time!A 10' net opens to 20'and that is what you need .Some extra rope on the net so you can circle the school without closing the net.
Practice on dry land.I measure the height of the gunnel and put a 2x4 on two garbage cans at the same hieght.Loft the net upward a little and it won't hit the side of your boat!Your boat should be moving and making a circle so throw the net toward the bow.You won't run it over!Technique not strength is the ticket. It is not how far you can throw it but making it open all the way that counts. When they are super thick you can shut the motor down and just throw without circling.Granted a good net is not cheap, but it will pay for itself.Would you buy a cheap rod and reel?Once you learn how to do it you will get a feeling of satisfaction and the striper candy will be in your live well!
