Got to the ramp at 545 am, shad fry everywhere. Launched the boat at 6 AM. Still dark out, head over to the WALLEYE grounds. 2 short eyes right off the bat, but short, both 15 inchers. Sun comes all the way up around 630, look at the water, pretty stained, heard they had some rain out there last night. 7 AM it starts to drizzle, then stops, then starts again around 830. Anyway, the drizzle pulls out and then the wind started honking out of the south 15-25, Im drifting and jigging for eyes but im drifting upstream and in circles cus of the crazy wind. Decided to anchor up in some current around 10 am and managed to jig up 1 more eye but only a 12 incher. Oh well, the big ones are biting at night guaranteed! Havn't had time to do the night bite thing lately. Set up some cut bait rods and threw them in, lots of run offs. Managed to get 1 FLATHEAD CAT in the boat 25 inches and 6.7 lbs. All in all it was a good day with some action and Im gonna make me some fish tacos tonight and drink some BEERS. Water is stained fellas and after tonight it should be unfishable for a while. Well, there will be cats and other fish to catch in the high water. The finesse fish will be hiding in the rocks. GOOD TIMES TIGHT LINES!!!
