Slop Bass
Drove to one of my old haunts today, Colonial Park in Franklin. Found the pond to be totally green; not a single spot of open water, mats of slop everywhere, and duck weed so thick you could walk across it.
Perfect. Decided to leave my GoPro in the car, as I did not feel much like cinematography. Bad move. Broke out the weedless frog and on my first cast nailed a solid 2 lb-er. A few casts later I landed a smaller fish. Ran back to my car and got the camera, wanting to record the bonanza for posterity. I proceed to miss the next five hits, all caught on camera (of course). Finally managed a 12" fish to close out the day and cobble a video together. Nice to see the old place still produces.
