Hit the river with Bob, Flatcreek and Tom last night. Tom and Flatcreek (Phil) were using Eels for bait looking for something BIG. Bob and I used live Bluegills. The Channel Cats were going crazy for the gills last night but they would just pick it up and run for 10-20 seconds without inhaling it. Every time I brought the bait back in, the scales were sucked off clean except for the most important part, the top half of the gill where the hook was. They were going for the stomach every time. Had about 10-12 good run-offs with maybe 3 of those run-offs being from very large fish. Managed to get 2 Channel Cats hooked up, the only 2 that inhaled the Bluegills, 1st fish weighed in at 5 3/4 lbs, 2nd fish weighed in around 6 1/4 lbs. Flatcreek had the scale ready for action. Tom and Phil continued to throw there Eels and unfortunately came up empty. Bob hung out and fished a little bit and only had 3 beers for a change. Thinking about heading back down thursday night. Action is getting hot and heavy on the river boyz. Every run-off I had last night was from a 5 lb or better fish without a doubt. Between 7-830 pm I couldn't step away from my rod in fear that it might disappear. Another good relaxing night with the local RIVER RATS! GOOD TIMES, TIGHT LINES!!!
