Got the chance to spend the weekend in North Carolina. Stayed at a great lodge on Lake Gaston. Our primary target were largemouth bass but unfortunately we couldn't pinpoint them and establish a pattern

, Thankfully gaston has a fantastic catfish and striper fishery. Ended up catching my first blue catfish- caught two small ones until I hooked into a gorgeous 12 pounder

, my biggest catfish to date and really made up for the tough bass fishing. Had another tough day the following day but that all faded when I got first striper of the year on a spinnerbait

. Nothing like catching a NJ keeper sized striper on freshwater gear. Overall had a fantastic weekend filled w/ great food, good fishing, good friends, and a great place!
