Nice Groundhog's Day Largemouth
Hit the Passaic River today with a bucket of shiners in hopes of a toothy Pike or two. Yesterday in the same spot, we landed 3 short Pike, but none were landed today. Instead, this guy swiped my live lined shiner a few feet off the bank. Fish was EXTREMELY lethargic, gently hitting the shiner and barely putting up a fight. Didn't weigh or measure him, but i'd guesstimate him at 16"-17"...not too bad for 40 degree water temps.
