Now I do not know all the details about this (am currently still reading more), but this CANNOT be a good thing!!! Monksville Reservoir is my absolute FAVORITE place to fish, not only because of the fish diversity there, but because of the fact that it's SECLUDED, CLEAN, UNMOLESTED and UNDEVELOPED. How many places in this state have that? According to reports, a similar project has already damaged Lake Lookover in West Milford, as well as a section of Wawayanda State Park. From the above link: " In Wawayanda State Park, Budz said, thousands of trees have been removed and the pipeline work has "contaminated" a 120- by 200-foot environmentally sensitive wetlands area with "an oily residue." Several West Milford residents said the pipeline work has virtually ruined Lake Lookover. Council member Carl Richko, a former West Milford mayor, said the work has turned the lake into a "mudhole." If any of you guys get the Bergen Record, there is an article on this on the front page of the Local section, as well as a map showing exactly where this would cut through...which happens to be one of my go-to spots, as well as where I have seen a TON of awesome wildlife (black bears, deer, bald eagle, etc.). I am PRAYING this gets rejected!!!!!
