Default Fall run [from da surf]Part 1

Fall is quickly approaching and it will be time to chase the striped ones from the beach,I thought Id give a few tips to make your season more productive.
The last few falls sand eels have been their main forage,at night the eels come into the surf and the bass follow, this is a early morning or night bite as is most of the fishing in the fall.If your not on the beach before sunup you could be out of the game.A few lures of choice are AVA's,needles, and bombers or red fins, also a teaser is usually used preferably a redgil or sluggo tied from a dropper about 20-24 inches in front of your main lure.Ava's are reeled in slow so that they hit the sand creating a puff which mimmicks the sand eel.Needles are the do nothing lure but are very effective using the same method SLOW retrieve with a twitch every so often,I prefer S/S needles they cast excellent into the wind and sink fast.Bombers and red fins also require a slow retrieve If you know how to load these plugs its even better as you can work the entire water column. The best colors in my opinion for your plugs will be Chicken Scratch, white and black.
