So today i was practicing driving with my dad (im 17 and on my permit) towards lambertville but made a right turn off some country road, followed it down a few miles, made another right at a split in the road, went over a bridge and continued on some rock and dirt road along the side of this dried up brook.
i saw the trout stock sign and it said Rock Brook, never heard of it before. and luckly i had my fishing lisence, tackle box a rod in the trunk even though i wasnt planning on fishing and it was a bit heavy for trout (10 lb line bass pole) so i walked down to the river and found a deep section filled with all kinds of fish but my eyes were set on the 5-6 trout cruising by. i tried using trout magnets, but didnt even get a hit. then i dug up some rocks, found earth worms and put them on a small hook with a bobber.
caught 3 nice rainbows, also some sunnies and a creek chub

. took the trouts home for dinner. ive noticed live bait works best for finnicky summer trout. plan on going back tommorrow and trying new holes along the brook.
