hopatcong ice update

I was out by bed bug island today looking for some jumbo perch and could only find 8 to 11"ers. the big crappies and the FAT jumbo perch have not been found by me yet. the ice was 12" where i was and i found perch in 8 and 10ft, again the #4 rippin rap was the key but they did like the jig and meal worm as well as the w4 jiggin rap. in some spots the ice eaters are opening up large areas and some cracks are starting to form.. the cold temps have them glued good for now but when we get some warmer weather they could be a problem. the ice looks good for the KDC ice fishing contest this Sunday and the weather looks good as well. if it does not get too warm and no rain we should be good into march something we have not seen in a long time.
