Default Shakedown Fluke with Henry on the Honeybee

Go the invite from Henry for a skinny water Fluke breakfast trip this morning.
Met Capt Henry, Larry Hartattack and Les at the dock 0700 ish.

Not a bad day for chilly, cloudy some on and off drizzle. Larry was hot today and both he and myself got our first limits of the season. Les and Henry did a great job keeping the shorts on their side of the boat!

Total for the day was 6 keepers from 17 to 22" , bunch of shorts, 2 Bluefish, couple of window panes and skates. Not to shabby.

Water temp between 50 and 51 degrees, 1/2 oz ball jigs, teasers and small gulps did their job. Larry brought some combo pink on top / white on bottom grubs. Quote of the day when Les picked up the package and states " i was looking at these and thought to myself the ONLY person on earth that would buy these is LARRY!"

Got a visit from some nice gentlemen from the USCG and of course Henry had everything in order and all our fish were legal. We netted a couple while they were on board and showed them the measures. Nice guys just doing their job and thanked them for their service. We were literally the only boat in sight so guess we were an easy target. Sucks as when they got off the boat the bite died!
