Default Re: Fluke Discussions

According to my calculator, I tend to spend between $100 and $125 when I use a party boat to catch fluke. This includes party boat fare, lunch, drinks, tip for mate, and fuel for the car. For this total amount, I can keep (2) fluke in the 17.0-17.99 inch range plus one over 18 inches. Normally, the fillets from a fluke equate to 1/3 the live weight of the fluke. Suppose I'm skilled and catch (3) 20 inch fluke. According to the rules, I have to retain only one fluke of the (3) I landed. So for my $100-$125 investment, I might walk off the boat with about one pound of fluke fillets. My local supermarket is selling "somewhat" fresh fluke for $20,00 per pound. My question therefore is.....is the preceding a wise use of my money?
