Beginning of May I headed up to NY to join Nick on various mugging expeditions, first day I got my first cisco, or lake whitefish, whichever species this is. Caught 2 more and they were pretty cool nonetheless. good fighters for the size!? Nick proceeded to mop the boat with slob pickerels and some chunky SMBs.
Next day the three amigos headed out for lake trout jigging at the finger lakes. This was lights out fishing, I caught 36 myself, 86 landed in the boat in total. a few triples and multiple doubles.
The best day of fishing I've ever had in terms of rod bending.
Final day we originally had a guide for trolling walleye, but with a lack of walleye the previous day the guide suggested browns; we caught about 20+ trolling, hooked 2 kings landed 1, and both of us got cool atlantic salmon.
We kept our limit of brown trout pretty quickly and it was good eats, they were cooked in a variety of ways
This Saturday the rain was relentless and even the wild trout streams i wanted to fish had flooded. I managed to get a fat hybrid however casting from shore as plan B.
