![]() I can’t believe it’s been a month since I went Walleye fishing! Seriously, where does the time go? Sheeesh! Hit the lake bright and early. While heading north I just kept watching the temp gauge in my truck drop. When I left my house the temp gauge read 34 degrees. When I got to the lake and launched it read a balmy 19 degrees. Oh my! It finally feels like Walleye fishing. Haha! Jigged the same stuff as usual and the fish were in the drops right where they should be. Took a while to get them going and I had to wait for some skim ice to melt. Once the sun finally peeked up over the mountain and the last of the ice disappeared is when I had the best action. Not a fast and furious bite but some solid action from some nice plump early winter Walleye. Managed to get 6 keepers to 24-25ish inches, 5 of them were over 20 inches and slammed my offering! The only other fish I saw this morning were rogue White Perch and they came in with no effort. Off the water by 1 as I had afternoon plans! Definitely wish I could’ve stayed all day! It was absolutely beautiful out there with no wind! Not a normal thing for December in NJ. But then again, what is normal? TIGHT LINEZ!!!
