Default Big O @ Sodus Bay Memorial Day mash up

With conditions at Delaware the way they are, our annual Memorial Day trip was relocated to Big O.

With upstate slowly opening up , managed to book a house and Saturday and Sunday charter through local connections. Since the group i was with never fished the lake before that for sure would turn into a memorable trip.

Day 1: Saturday 5/23
With a fog engulfing everything was a very slow troll to get out of the bay. Left the dock at 530am and got to the deeper water around 630. Captain was running 11 rod spread with 6 on planner boards, 2 dipseys 2 outriggers and 1 on a wire. Took awhile to find some warmer water as well as some marks. Spoons and flasher were changed throughout the day to see what will work. Ended up the day going 6 for 9 with 3 fish lost pretty much at the boat. 2 Cohos, 1 steelhead, 1 jack king and 2 lakers were taken. Left back to the dock at 2pm

Day 2: Sunday 5/24
Lake was choppier this day than day before and with colder water moving in was a much harder day at work for all. Decided to change it up and fish shallower water for browns. Found some pockets of 45-47 degree water and quickly landed 3 browns. Then water temperature dropped to 42 and with it bite was gone. Moved again to deeper water and managed to hook up with 4 lakers. Ended up going 7 for 7 making every hook up count.

Overall great time had by all and with waters warming up only will get better.

Andre
