Default Sunday fishing

Had the afternoon free so decided to go fishing. Went up to dows and got bait. Hit the north end of hopatcong looking for perch. Used plugs, jigs and fatheads. Nada. Fished for about an hour, maybe still a little early for the spot i was at? Still plenty of time so decided to hit the big d. Made the long walk to the spot i wanted to fish after parking. Dead sticked two rods, one with crawlers and one with a shiner. While the rods were soaking did some exploring. Came across a real nice fishy looking spot and was able to hook and land a nice smallie. Not much else. Headed back to where my bait rods were and nada. Baits were untouched. Casted around and was able to hook up on a kieteck but fish popped off after a short battle. Thinking it was a decent walleye but will never know. Left the river as it was getting dark and i had a long walk through the woods back to the car. At least i didn't get the skunk.
