Default 3rd times the charm muskie

Been fishing with my buddy trying to get him his first muskie...

day 1, no fish came within sight range of us but we had two topwater/subsurface HUGE blowups that didn't hook up (almost definitely muskie).

day 2, throughout the course of a few hours we saw 6 muskie follow us up to or near the boat only to bail out before a figure 8 or direction change or just plain not give a crap. The closest one looked like he was playing a game with the lure called 'get your nose as close to it as possible without touching it'
tried variations of the lures getting followed but no dice.

at this point my buddy kind of frustrated, me just pretty much telling him, you wanted to muskie fish, this is what it is, we had two decent days of 'musky fishing' haha. we have them, just need a bit of luck now...

day 3, we saw only 1 fish and it emerged from the weeds and clamped down on my lure instead of his unfortunately, but he got to experience netting one, which was almost a disaster as it did a damn cartwheel flip over the entire muskie net and knocked me on my ass into the little tin can haha. Second scoop got him in without us capsizing and mission half accomplished...he got to see one landed and net it, now we just need to get him a hookup!

It was a very rare long, half musky, half eel, hybrid at 37.5" and probably 2.3lbs haha every fish we saw the day before was super thick compared to this one, go figure...we'll be back soon
