more night cong action
went back to my spot on the big pond again to see if the fish wanted to play and what a difference a week makes. i got there around 8:30pm and started with a jig to see what was hitting. there were baitfish schooling on the surface at the first spot so i threw my jig into the school and got hit, there were crappies under the schooling fish and i landed a 9" crappie and the school disappeared so i moved on.. got to spot #2 around 10:30 and started to work the topwater lures after a short time my lure gets crushed and i start to think that it's going to be one of those nites. that fish was a 13" hybrid but that was the last fish i would get until about 12:45am when a 21" walleye crushes my spittin image plug right by my canoe. the next fish i got was around 1:30am a 20" hybrid and that was all she wrote the fish stopped playing so i called it the night at 2:30am. the weather was nice last night but i did notice that the moon did not show up until around 11:30pm after that is when i got that walleye, also the lite wind died down as well and the lake got real quiet not to many herring around. still a nice nite on the cong...
