Default Election day 24hr Gambler bloody decks

Just got back(literally)> Bob took us on a 7hr ride on one of the most comfortable rides to the NE corner of the Hudson on the 200M line & E of the 100sq. Anchored and before coming tight, squid were coming aboard & boat only swung a little on the long period swells. H2O 64-64.4* throughout our stay. Within the hour @ 4AM, a 165# sword was put on ice. Between then & just before false light one 65-70# YFT boated & one blue dog gotten to the boat with 2 other hook-less leaders just before. At 7AM an LFT(60#) boated and then it started---from then to 3 whistles @ 1:15 3 flurries and a steady pick of larger LFT's boated with only a very few dropped for one reason or another. All were 45-65# for a 19 total. Most were on sardines, a few on butters. I fished a livey during the night with no takers. Fished my Chinese market "round scads"(look like sardines) after just before sunrise--went 2 for 4. Only one caught on the jig...about 1/3--1/2 the fish were hooked up within 50-100" during the flurries & at any distance @ other times. At times the the screen was "lit up" from 100' to 150' A few porpoise visited briefly @ night and Noaa was pretty much right on...ride in was nice as well-it lay down right after we started & wind didn't come on 'til an hour out. Air temp in the mid-sixties. Not everyone caught but I think all enjoyed the experience, even the "first-timers" and we got a couple more converts for next year. Only 17(I think) on for the trip and next Tuesday's 24 has 15-16 so far. I gotta' go again, it's finally happening. Capt Bob said weather permitting "we're going"!!!! Called Jill on the way in and booked it.....why don't you----fill out the trip.
And as always, 2nd capt. Todd, Alex and Niko(doubled as chef) did their usual best to addressing tangles, gaffing & generally keeping us happy. For a change, almost everyone stayed @ the rail for the duration ...and heard the election results on serius radio....Lots of pix taken @ the end; don't know if anyone will post but you all know what a lot of bigger LFT's on deck look like--right??? Do it again next week, just get the OK from however many bosses you have and go!!!!!
Tired, but got to steak & shrink-wrap. Good night........
Chucky
