Fishing has been a little rough the last two weeks with temps fluctuating & trying to steady out. The transition has slowed down my piking but brought up some small fall stripers. No complaints, as long as there's a nice bend in my pole.
Hit up a swampy lake that was tremendously low & covered in thick lillies. There was about 100sq ft of open water to work with so had to make do. Wound up with a few darts, a few bass, and 1 crappie. Interesting thing with the bass, I've never caught any as dark as these. Nothing huge, but def know there's a lunker or two in there from the splashes & swells made in the lillypads. Will definitely try my luck there again.
So, the swing & a miss. Won't get in crazy detail but while bank beating a local hole, I spooked a nice size fish! Didn't have anything in my bag he wanted so he won that day. Came back another day with bait & time. Good timing...wrong bait. Refined my baiting strategy & tried another day. When I say I hate losing fish, I HATE LOSING FISH...LOL! So after he took and the hook was set, the fight was on. Yea, for about a minute until he unhooked himself on a log or branch, bastard!! But that's what I'm after. Not exactly sure what it is, but know if I land it & get a pic, should be a 1st for this site! Wish me luck fellaz! Hopefully I'll have a pic soon.
