Had off from Thurs - Mon and managed to make it out a couple times. Spent one day hittin up a few of my spots on the P. Usually only get smallies but have caught some decent pike in the area. Ended up being a smallie day though with half a dozen. Biggest went 15-16" but all were plenty scrappy. Hooked and landed one pike in the low 20's but that was it for the pikeys.
The other 2 days were spent troutin. Still miss my jboat but nothing scratches the itch quite like walking a new area of water, having it all to myself, and catchin a mess of trout. Couldn't quite find that special fish, but I never had so many double digit days troutin before. At one spot, just downstream from a damn,

I had a big girl 5-6#er follow my spinner in twice. Stepped back, changed up to a CD, waited a minute........ and she never came back.
Definitely feel like I'm getting better at pickin apart different sections and catchin them on a variety of lures. Was fishin one spot I knew had fish but couldn't get a bite on a steady retrieve. Started twitching my rapala in place high in the current and watched a fish come up and miss it 3 times before finally grabbing it.........
