November 11th and 12th Bass Reports - Johnny Bucktails
November 11th: Headed out at 3 pm with my three friends from school. Due to time restrictions i decided out best bet would be to put out the spoons in hopes of putting my friends on their first bass. Not 5 minutes on the troll the rod went off and it was game on. Passed the rod onto my friend will and we all went nuts when i get her in the net. Not a monster but it was a solid fish for his first ever fish. Went back on the troll and 20 minutes later we hooked a screamer. I had never seen their heads spin around so fast when the line came off the reel. Handed the rod off to my friend Vin and he went to work. Took some time and i knew it was a nice fish because it took some serious runs. After a long battle we got her along side the boat and put her in the net. 30 pounds on the boga. I spoiled them !!! We all went nuts and it was a great time. After they all calmed down and stopped screaming like little girls i put the rods back out. In the next hour we hooked two nice fish but lost them both. One at the boat and the other one i did not see. Called it a day as the sun was going down. Great trip with a great crew. One that i will never forget.
November 12th: After my dad saw what i caught with my friends yesterday, he just had to get out there. We left once again right after school and i told him we should live line. He did not want to because it gets dark so early but i twisted his arm. He gave in and off we went to make bait. The bunker were on the bottom but we got em after a few throws. I took the lip right back to where i had them the night before with my friends and it was game on. Two minutes into the first drift, before i could get all the rods out, the bunker gets blown up on. It was an epic bite but he did not commit to it. The bass continued to slap the bunker around and play with them rather than eat them. It is always awesome to watch but was also quite frustrating. Soon they began to commit to the bunker and it was game on. Within' 45 minutes the lip and i had caught out four bass limit. Nothing big but all nice chunky keepers. Headed back to the barn just as the sun was going down. Perfect quick after school trip for Dad and I.
Tight lines- Johnny Bucktails
