Default Canyon was on fire !!

Took a 1.5 day trip on a NS from RI.
Left dock at 10PM Friday night, started fishing around 6AM Saturday morning.
Drifted all day and a few yellowfins were caught, then a bigeye was landed, by yours truly
My Okuma Makaira 50W and United Composite custom rod performed flawlessly on this big fish and I landed it in around 30-40 mins. It was quite a battle though. I had blisters on my hands once the battle was over.
Once we anchored up at sunset, it was pretty much drop and reel until 1AM and it was all good sized yellowfins. I didin't see any longfins.
Even though all the fish were caught in butterfish and sardines, they had loads of squids in their stomach.
There were a lot of first timers, so we lost a lot of fish, but if we had more experienced crew, boat limit shouldn't have been a problem.
Everyone has had enough, so packed up early and were back at dock at 12PM Sunday.
It was my first eyeball and will be remembered for a long time.
