Had a bit of time this morning so I stopped at a few of my favorite locations along the lower Passaic, and threw some lures for a while. Hooked and landed a nice striper, about 26", on a topwater, so they're still around.
Then I lost my lure to a blanket or something a few feet from shore, and had to stand there and look at it after breaking it off. Now since loosing a good lure stinks, and having to look at it out there afterwards is even worse, I went back to the car, put on my waders, and walked out to reclaim my lure. I ended up cutting a bunch more lures out of that blanket. We all know how much more fish-catching-mojo is in reclaimed lures, so I saved the decent ones.
