FISH TANK - Mon and Tues Sea Bass Report
Hey gang! Mother nature finally gave us a break on Monday and we sailed with long time customer Mr. Han, his sons and a few of their friends from church. We broke the inlet around 5:30am and were greeted to flat calm seas and chilly temps. Headed north, anchored up and within no time, we had a dozen nice biscuits in the boat. A few wiggles later we were halfway to our limit and added some nice ling a dings to the cooler. Then the current started to run hard out of the N and with the SE wind, anchoring conditions deteriorated so we decided to pull the hook and drift over a few more spots. This proved to be very effective. We rounded out the day with a nice catch of sea bass, ling and some tog that were released. The guys went home with big bags of fillets and smiles from ear to ear.
Today, Capt Tommy called me and reported lights out fishing. The 5 man crew bagged their limit of sea bass up to 5lbs by 9:30am and were back at the dock just in time to beat the rain.
The sea bass are here and have their feed bags on so now is the time to get in on some this great bottom fishing. It's also a great opportunity to introduce some young ones to the sport that we all know and love.
Til next time...be well everyone!
~Capt. Kevin Hutnik
