Default Canyon Runner NC Bluefin - 90 Trips In the Books Thanks! - But More Space Available

First - I have to thank all of you that booked with us so far. We've filled up 3 boats with close to 90 trips already in late February, March and Early April - we are truly humbled that all of you are so interested in fishing with us. Of course almost 90% of you are repeat customers so thanks for once again joining us in on this great fishery.

Now, for those of you on the fence. I've not posted anything about our North Carolina Bluefin trips for Spring 2013 out of Pirate's Cove since early December as we have almost everything filled on both boats but since that is already the case I've rearranged some yard work and have the 60 Ritchie in on some of the fun and a couple other close friends and part time Canyon Runner captains will be joining in with their boats so we have a fresh new set of dates available.

So what are you waiting for - please reach out to us now if you want a spot.

Just email me at adam@canyonrunner.com or call me at 732-272-4445

By the way - if you haven't experienced a NC Bluefin jigging/popping trip with the Canyon Runner Crew then you really need to look into doing it. Look at our past reports and see what truly amazing fishing this is. Fishing only 20-25 miles for the inlet our chaters were fighitng up to 25 Giant Bluefin per day (over 73") on light tackle almost everyday during the heart of the season!

Look at this Post from Capt. Mark from 2011

I have not had much time to post as we have fished 10 out of the last 11 days .. over those 10 days we saw anywhere from 5 to 25 bites per day , with the fish responding to the troll, poppers, jigs and even Ronz soft baits ... most days after getting a taste of these big fish on trolling gear, guys were reluctant to battle these beasts on the light gear .. so many days we casted hookless poppers and just watched fish after fish blow up on the popper. We had the Bill Nye group dowen for three days on the 60 early in the week and the boys saw orcas trying to eat their tunas, 350lb bluefins airing out on poppers 20 feet off the stern and released 17 giant bluefin in three days of fishing, as well as keeping one under 73" fish per day ... here are some pics from the week

April 2011

In the last three days they released at least 35 bluefins over 73”. On Tuesday the first bait in the water on our 48 Viking was engulfed by a 91” 450 pound Bluefin that was fought for 3 hours, tagged and swam away nicely. They then spent the rest of the day jigging and popping captuing another 7 bluefins with an over and under to take home and 5 bluefin over 75” to 80” that were tagged and released.

Meanwhile, our second charter fishing with Capt. Denis Ednee of the A-Salt Weapon did non-stop battle with 70-80” fish during the 3 hours while Capt. Mark was hooked up to the 450 pounder. They release 7 of these fish for their days total.

Capt. Mark DeBlasio estimates we tagged approximately 50 bluefins over 73” thus far this season that all swam away nicely so it will be very interesting where these fish show up. (We tagged well over 100 yellowfin last summer and got a bunch of returns back already and funny enough all these fish swam east).

This fishing in 2012 was just as good but it started way earlier and we missed some of the best of it as it died down in late March. Not this year - as we are starting Februarry 20 and will fish everyday until the fish leave.
