Default Foggy morning salvation

Fog on the ocean prevented us from fluking outside today. When faced with lemons Henry knows how to make lemonade. We fished the river for < 3 hrs this morning. Must've thrown back 150 shorts to get 3 nice keepers. Constant action, little wind, incoming current yielded nice drifts in the river. Thanks to Jakesdad and Honeybee for a gr8 quickie....

All those 150 shorts will become easy pickings for commercials this fall and winter and the recreational angler will never have an opportunity to harvest them. That's exactly why rec's are handicapped with higher size minimums and commercials literally kill every fluke that unfortunately ends up in their nets by either harvesting them if they're over 14" or throwing them back dead if they're not legal size or of the size bringing the highest market value back at the docks when they offload. So how does this stock sustain itself under those conditions?

Easy fix.....get NOAA the hell out of the Department of Commerce and put them where they belong..... The Department of the Interior.

Believe thats happening as SCOTUS overturned the Chevron Act. Not saying I agree with that decision as there are many layers that could backfire on our outdoors but the general is now it goes away from science agencies and back to the courts from whomever decides to complain. Personally torn as I believe its a step backwards on our environment BUT allows some leeway on regs for fishing, maybe kind of sort of. Typical over compensation
