Default Greenwood Lake Public Launch Update 9/28/21

Hey Everyone,

Hope you are all well/healthy. We currently have 1894 signatures on our petition. Shortly we will be uploading 3 letters that can be sent to Governor Murphy's office:

Office of the Governor
PO Box 001
Trenton, NJ 08625

All you have to do is pick one of the three letters, sign, date and send. Pick whichever of the 3 versions you like.

There is also a template on the Governor's website that is an option if anglers want to send their individual experiences with the current access concerns on Greenwood.

ANYONE HELP! IS THERE A WAY THAT I CAN UPLOAD/POST THESE LETTERS HERE SUCH THAT ANYONE CAN ACCESS/PRINT THEM OUT ON THEIR END AND SEND WITHOUT HAVING TO REPRODUCE/RETYPE/ THEM? I KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOS HERE BUT NEVER HAVE DONE TEXT. GOAL IS TO MAKE THE DOCUMENTS ACCESSIBLE SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PRINT OUT SIGN AND SEND. ANY IDEAS LET ME KNOW AND I WILL GET ON IT.

The key with this move is AWARENESS by the governor. NJ Fish and Game Council unanimously voted in favor of public launch ramps on Greenwood. I was told by the Div. that the more we can flood the governor's office with letters of concern that "THEY WILL FIND THE MONEY". Let's make this happen. Everything is moving in the right direction.....for all the PUBLIC to enjoy Greenwood Lake without having to worry about exhorbitant access fees or chained/blocked launch ramps.

Again any ideas of how I can get workable letters on this site that can be immediately downloaded/copied/used let me know.

Keep you all posted.

Been some posts lately about the new state record landlocked salmon and impacts it will have on the pressure or attention the body of water it was caught from will get now that the location has been publicly disclosed.

For anyone with those concerns, imagine the same if Greenwood Lake doesn't get it's public access Capt. Dave and others are fighting for and the ripple effect that decision will have on the remaining "public lakes". The pressure less lakes, streams, reservoirs etc. available to the public will have on other bodies of water will be enormous.

Hopefully the hard work put into maintaining public access will pay off and for anyone who hasn't signed the petition or letter you should think through the consequences no public access to Greenwood will have on everywhere else you fish.

If the public can't fish Greenwood for walleye as an example, what impact will that have on the pressure Hopatcong receives for the same. And if a precedent is set, Hopatcong will be the next to argue no public access. It would be an absolute shame if the Homeowners Association or Marina Owners or whoever is driving this agenda win out as the consequences across the state will be significant.

Just food for thought when your help is requested to maintain access rights.
