Default Oradell Reservoir

Sadly, Oradell Reservoir is closed indefinitely.

Last year, I was catching so many Hybrid striped bass on top water.
I can feel Large Mouth and Small Mouth spwaning as well as huge crappies.

Didn't know there were Hybrids still in there ! It's been a while since they were stocked, I wonder how long they live?

This virus won't last forever !

They finally received the permission from the state and restocked two years ago to alleviate the filter getting clogged with baitfish.

Hybrid stripers grew quite fast.

An interesting note is that I was catching more Hybrids last year than Large Mouth.

From what I am hearing anglers by in large are doing the right thing.

If yous are out this weekend and see anglers congregating please ask them to distance themselves from one another. If you see anglers practicing social distancing get a photo, put it on social media, even send to news sites. We want the narrative to be that anglers are following the rules.
We don't want to be confused with the hikers, mountain bikers and small groups that may be walking through the areas we are fishing in.

In one or two other states I believe they have already banned recreational fishing. We don't want to lose it here like golfers lost the golf course.

North Jersey- Also the Valero gas station in Oakland NJ (78 RVR) has live bait (worms only). Davis in Sloatsburg is closed at present but if they re-open for curbside pickup you may be able to get live bait there but not sure. Website said they were doing curbside for firearm transactions initially completed over the phone.
The General Store in North Haledon has worms, Butter Worms, Fatheads, medium and large shiners and is open.
