Not sure how that would work? Wouldn't all you get are mud clouds along the bottom down stream of the rake?

An old trick we used to use when fishing for Winter Flounder was stirring up the bottom with a long stick and it worked so I would guess the clamming rakes do the same...

Never did it myself but have heard about using a plumbers plunger to stir up the bottom. When I was young and fished with my uncle he would fill a can or bucket with small rocks and throw out a handful every once in a while to stir up the bottom...Charlie
