Default Extreme Low Tides rivers / bays?

Question:
The last couple of years and especially this year low tides from raritan bay and estuaries to barnegat bay and estuaries seem unusually low? Cant really tie it to Sandy but curious. Same in south jersey?
Any input appreciated

I believe ANDY is spot on. We had prolonged hard blows from the west several times in conjunction with moon. Water was kept out by the Wind. That’s my 2 cents

Exactly - When the winds blow hard from the west it keeps the ocean waters from coming into the bays during incoming tide and blows the water out harder during outgoing tides. We are also just coming off a new moon so the low and high tides are more extreme to start with.

A lot to cover here so come down to the boat yard Sunday with some beer, wax, a few ladders, some oil and filters and I'll explain in more detail

I would gladly take this west wind during the inshore fishery.

But for sure first week of may it will change to a south screamer till December

Combine that with the new moon and we have a super low moon tide and west wind blow out. EXTRA EXTRA LOW.

That's when you do recon for surf fishing. See structure.
