Default Very early fluke

I think the fish was as surprised as I was...took a 7" swimbait in one go, but then zero headshakes until surface.

I know fluke come in early, but this is the earliest I've seen in RB!

Back in the mid/late 90's, I caught several fluke in one trip while drifting sand worms through the Sandy Hook Rips on April 15th.

I have an entry in my log book from the mid 1990s where another guy and myself had 9 keepers and 20 shorts from a row boat in Shark River in a row boat.

With the full moon I bet a good number of fluke have moved into the area. Only reason we don't see more caught this time of year is that they water temps are cold and guys aren't targeting them.

Killies on freshwater tackle and jigheads on warm outgoing tide would catch some.

Every spring as soon as the pound nets are in, they get big fluke. Fewer fluke but big ones.
