EDIT: From his friend's Facebook pages, I found a pic:

Looks like he was married and lived in Randolph. Poor wife was probably waiting for him to come home and got a phone call she'll never forget. Just terrible. Its not just boaters that need to be careful Spruce has suck mud when it gets low. You think its fine and then your ass deep in mud. The scary part is you'll see stones on top and think its fine but then you take a step and sink in.

They also have a 3 year old child at home. God Bless them and watch over them at this time.

Man, That is so sad to hear... what is supposed to be a fun day, turns into something like that. Keep their family in your prayers, I'm sure they will need all the strength they can get.... VERY SAD!!!

sad reminders to wear PFDs out on the water! the auto-inflatable ones you hardly even notice you're wearing.

It appears that the Round Valley victim was there for a swim and not fishing. As I understand it from the articles, the Spruce Run victim was swimming after a boat that blew away from shore while they stopped for lunch.

Just a WAG, but the Round Valley victim was 71 and the Spruce Run victim was swimming after a boat. They may both have suffered heart attacks or a similar medical event.

Go Fund Me page for the family of the Spruce Run victim. Sad. He seems like a great guy.
