quick 1 hour fun run last eve resulted in this bruiser on a jig. Never saw a Bass hit so hard. Though it may have been one of those mystery BFT in the mix. Reel puked up half the spool in about 35 seconds |

![]() Yes we released that cow.. I release all of the big ones and rarely keep the smaller legal ones unless it's for dinner..

![]() I'm not sure why the infatuation with releasing old cows. Is it better they feed crabs and worms on the ocean bed than the dinner table? Theres a reason why stripers are rare over 30 lbs - they die of old age.
If you are going to kill one, take the one that might not see next season vs a 15 lb fish that might have 4 more seasons. |

The larger Stripers are the breeders that produce many more Stripers. They don't taste as good as the smaller 28" Stripers either. The more large fish that are released helps the Striper population for the future. 40 pound fish can still grow and become 60 to 80 pound fish or larger. But you can't knock anyone for keeping they're over/under limit because it's they're right to do so. Happy Catching
