Default Islamorada Help

I am taking my old man to Islamorada the second week of January for a fishing trip. After doing a little research, it looks like Bud N Mary's runs a pretty nice operation, but does anyone have any recommendations on who to fish with and what to fish for at that time of year? I know there are many different options such as offshore, inshore reefs and back water. Any the best for that time of year?

Thanks for all the input to try and get my old man in to some fish.

We go down every year - going down the week of 1/18. We always fish out of Bud N Mary's. Backwater guide is a capt - first name of Clyde from N. Carolina - heavy accent - but good fisherman - offshore or reef - we have been going on the Reel McCoy for about 7 or 8 years. New Capt 2 years ago - but we have always been successful.

Also, the Relentless out of BnM slams the sailfish this time of year. I would definitely check capt. Paul's availability during the time you'll be there.

Also look into Robbie's, they offer split charters.

Great time of year for sails and kings. Most boats at BnM are going to be great. If you also want to fish inshore, you can run across the bay to Flamingo and catch snook, reds, Spanish mackerel, Goliath grouper and sharks.
