There is a County Park (Hartshorne) where the old steel bridge was (been replaced now) about 300 yards from the Stone Church. Crabs and parking await.

As a start- I'd make sure you had the proper licensing and the right pots. PS: read the regs.

I'd rather not run down river if there are closer/easier places to catch crab.

Is this merely a fantasy or is it feasible?

thanks,

Really? I figured I'd just buy one of those Dangerous Catch 1000 lbs pots and strap it to the bow of my 21' boat. Thanks for the informative reply.

Fairhaven Pier. Are you using box traps and hand lines? if you are using hand lines you need a long handle net on that pier.

I'm not trying to bust stones. My reply is the most informative of all.

If you plan on dropping traps and leaving them, there is a lot to make sure you do. IE: Sinking line only, Biodegradable add-on so crabs can escape if pot is never pulled. Buoy requirements, license requirement.

If they are not labelled correctly, someone will steal them. If they are not the right traps, the state will take them.

I'm just trying to help you.
