What do you guys use for fluke ? Braid, mono,lb. test.

30 pound braid with a 25 pound mono leader. If I'm jigging I use a mono top shot. If dragging bait then just use mono for the hook leader.

I use 20lb braid, and will do a short 20lb mono leader in the bay, heavy structure usually do a longer 30 or 40lb mono top shot

Id say 95% of my conventionals are loaded with 50# pp and add a topshot accordingly... I don't like adding backing and haven't got the opportunity to get on of the smaller super reels to downgrade yet... thats just me, and I don't mind, cuz one time at fish camp I caught this ray...!

Use the lightest thinnest braid I can. so I can fish the lightest bucktail for the drift.
I use berkeley NANO in both 14 and 17 pound.

followed by a 50# top shot( about 12' long) to take the abuse the rough stuff dishes out.

15# PP to 30# mono leader for bucktailing out front. 30# PP on the baited dead stick. 8# PP on a spinning rod for bucktailing in the bay/shallow water.

i only fish the bays for fluke anymore, i use between 10 and 30 lb braid depending on how deep and the size bucktail im fishing, the 30lb is more for later in the summer when the fluke are deeper and require a heavier bucktail to reach them

All depends on depth for me. Surf and shallow, light spinning outfit with 10-15 lb braid and 10-15 lb short leader tied direct to a clipped buck tail tipped with meat or gulp. Deeper waters, like those I fish out east in montauk, torium 14 with 30 lb braid, usually sufix 832, 10-15ft of 30-40 lb mono or copolymer on a shimano teramar inshore rod. Sweeeeeeeeeet sweet set up... Light enough for inshore fluke n seabass, just enough to bounce 8 oz jigs in 140-175 ft of water for cod, pollock, offshore seabass and offshore scup.
