great weekend on the ice!!

Fished in a contest Saturday with my son up in Vernon.we had fish right off the bat.took me 45 minutes to get 4 tip-ups in and it stayed that way all day.
it was great but taking away from my jigging time.we had crappies,lm bass,pickerel and yellow perch all day.i took 3rd place with a 3lb lm bass.all fish released.sunday was the best ice fishing day I think I ever had.went solo
to just have a nice easy day on the ice.got bait and had the tip-ups in by 7:30 and started jigging my first hole.bam,15in lm bass right of the bat.then the flags started flying one after another with 3 or 4 doubles.went thru 3 dozen bait in 3 hours.i was glad the bait was gone so I could jig.stayed till 1:30 and left them biting.bass,perch,crappie,pickerel and bluegills.just a great weekend.

Great catchin BD!! I should've went to your spot this weekend, lol!! Congrats, and Definitly, most of my best fishing days were solo as well. Gotta be out there to get em', right!

let them all go to fight another day.it was just a great weekend to be out on the ice.i just got lucky and the fish were hungry.i know going solo ice fishing is not a great idea but what a way to relax.

Fishing solo now is not as big of a deal as it was a month ago Ice is pretty solid in most places but still better to have somebody with you and your pic's just in case! Nice that you got a chance to slam em' We had the same saturday, it was so crazy I was getting mad because I wanted a coffee and pork roll sandwich and every time I started to sit down BOOM another flag!LOL There was three of us running wind sprints all day my daughter included! We also burned thru a ton of bait and missed so many fish because it was to much to handle with 15 tip ups in a huge spread but we enjoyed every second of it!!!
Wish we would have seen ya at the meet I haven't had the opportunity to meet you yet.

sounds like a great day also.i think it was just that weekend that they bit everywhere.i will be out Saturday and sunday to see if I can get a few more.going to fish the kneedeep contest on on sunday.
