Default Lake Help

Looking to take my step son out fishing. I would like to take him out on my boat and soak some worms. I live on Staten Island, and only fish Muskie waters in North Jersey. don't really want to make an hour and a half drive, and he is board in less time than we traveled. Most of my experience is on GW, Mountain, Furnace, Echo, And Monks. I have fished Budd and Farrington before just wondering what are my closest options. I have a 17 lund so, someplace with a decent ramp would help.
Thanks guys
Joe

greenwood lake and hopatcong are doing well this time of year. either has plenty of ramps and lots of spots to fish, soak some worms or smaller shiners/fatheads and you will be rippin crappies and various fish all day long. U can do really well w a dropshot rig/3 way rig w smaller baits, especially if you get on some decent marks

When I was a kid, myself and a couple of guys would pedal our bikes from Bayonne to Wolf's Pond Park on Staten Island. Lots of panfish and the occasional largemouth back in the 50s.

Hey Joe - good to see you over on this forum.

You may have seen this before but I think it will help give you some ideas:

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/fishplc.htm

It is sorted by NJ county and if you click on the individual lake name, it will take you via Google maps right to the coordinates.

This link gives a little more info on each lake but it hasn't been updated in awhile so you need to take the ratings with a grain of salt.

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pdf/2003/plcpnds03.pdf

Pick a few lakes in the distance / vicinity you are looking for and I guarantee there are members on here that can give you more specifics on the launches, etc. there.

Round Valley or Pompton Lake may not be too long a ride.

June
Wolfs pond park has no pond. Super storm sandy washed it out to sea.
