Default Hudson Report 8/21&22 YFT & LFT

Took my A team friends Gary, Jacque, George, Frank and John to the Hudson for an overnight on Thursday. Trolled down the west looking for the charted break. The temp went from 73.9 to 74.5 just before the 150/050 and the rods started singing. Before 6 pm the guys put 7 longfins on ice and we decided to set up for the night in the square. Except for two short strikes on the sword rods and a spooled 50w we had nothing to show for our efforts. At daybreak we trolled through the big eye lottery back to the scene of the crime and immediately came tight on three bruiser yellowfins which were boated. We worked the area till 9 am and boxed 5 more longfins. We also had a screamer which lasted 2 minutes before the line came slack and the hookbait on the spreader bar was cut off, no doubt a wahoo. We trolled away from the area toward home and in the middle of the letters we had a quadruple hook-up and boated 4 more longfins. At this point the guys cried uncle and we headed for home with 19 tuna on ice.

Nice Bernie, I was thinking of you and the many good trips on your boat before you made the rule no whole tuna could be taken off the boat, 1/4s only

That was the end of the good times.

Best trip was just after 9/11 in the 100 square area.

Where has time gone.

Chris

Most popular was the 9 in white sterling squid bar, green machine and Joe Shute with bally. Lost the hook bait on the sterling squid bar to a wahoo.
